Stream Events
Stream events — like subathons and milestones — boost engagement by giving your community shared goals to work toward during your stream.
What Are Stream Events?
Stream events are time-limited activities that track community contributions toward goals. StreamForge supports two event types:
- Subathon — A timer-based event where contributions add time to a countdown clock
- Milestone — A goal-based event where contributions count toward a target (e.g., 100 new subs)
Creating an Event
- Go to Events in your dashboard
- Click Create Event
- Choose the event type (Subathon or Milestone)
- Set the event name and description
- Configure the starting timer or goal target
- Add event goals (optional) and power hours (optional)
- Click Createto save — you can start it when you're ready
Event Goals
Goals are milestones within an event that unlock when reached. For example:
- “At 50 subs, I'll do a challenge”
- “At $500, I'll play a viewer-requested game”
- “At 10 hours added, I'll reveal a surprise”
Goals appear on the event overlay, giving your chat visible targets to work toward.
Power Hours
Power hours are scheduled time windows during an event where contributions count for extra. For example, a 2× multiplier power hour means every sub counts double during that period.
To add a power hour:
- Edit your event from the Events page
- Go to the Power Hours tab
- Set the start time, duration, and multiplier
Timer & Contribution Tracking
During a live event, StreamForge tracks all contributions in real time:
- The event timer updates live (for subathons)
- Goal progress bars update instantly
- A contribution log shows each contribution as it comes in
- An audit trail records everything for post-stream review
OBS Overlay for Events
Display event progress directly on your stream using the event overlay. See the Overlays documentation for setup instructions.
